The Sacramento City Council voted to extend the layoff deadline from tomorrow, June 19, 2009 to July 3, 2009. Employees who received layoff notices will remain in their current positions until July 3, 2009. Negotiations with unions are ongoing.

Nike is interested in putting together a three-day football extravaganza that would feature the Grant Pacers and other teams from California, Texas, and Hawaii. The event would be scheduled for the first week in September, possibly at Sacramento State [Sacramento Bee].
