Police seek witnesses to fatal vehicle collision

The Sacramento Police Department is seeking witnesses to fatal vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in Old North Sacramento.

On Sunday July 14, 2013, at 8:42 p.m., a 90-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and fatally injured in the area of Rio Linda Blvd and Lampasas Avenue.

The pedestrian was crossing Rio Linda Boulevard towards the Bon Fair Market at the time of the incident. Sacramento Police Major Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to assist with the investigation.

The driver of the 2002 red-in-color Mitsubishi pick-up truck remained on scene and was contacted by responding officers.

Detectives wish to speak with anyone who may have witnessed this collision.
