All bets are off at the “Community Access and Resource Expo” at 3217 Marysville Blvd in North Sacramento.
On July 10th, the Sacramento Police Department along with the California Department of Justice Gambling Unit raided the facility finding it was masquerading as an internet cafe.
In June 2013, the Sacramento Police Department’s Metro Unit received information of illegal gambling occurring at the facility on Marysville Blvd and another at 2330 Northgate Blvd.
Officers conducted an investigation at both locations and determined that the businesses that were advertising as internet cafés were actually utilizing computerized slot machines to conduct illegal gambling operations.
Officers served search warrants at both locations for illegal gambling. The operation resulted in the following:
- 3217 Marysville Blvd- officers seized 15 computers, several hundreds of dollars, and arrested 3 individuals on narcotics related charges.
- 2330 Northgate Blvd- officers seized 20 computers, several thousands of dollars, and arrested one subject on a felony warrant.

This is the second illegal gambling operation that has occurred at the Northgate location. Officers served a search warrant at this location in June of 2012 for illegal gambling. The operator was arrested and the business was shut down.
The investigation continues and officers expect to make additional arrests related to the operation of these gambling establishments.
This is the sixth internet café in the City of Sacramento that the Police Department has served search warrants on.
