The Norwood Avenue Bridge over Arcade Creek, which is currently being replaced, will close for 12 days beginning Friday, September 30 until Wednesday, October 12 so the old bridge can be removed.
Pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained via a smaller, temporary bridge.
Norwood Avenue will be closed to through traffic at the bridge just north of Linley Drive. The recommended detour via El Camino Ave on the south, Northgate Boulevard on the west and Silver Eagle Road on the north will be posted (see map).
The 55-year-old bridge between Fairbanks Avenue and Linley Avenue is being replaced with a new concrete bridge with two travel lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks and street lighting.
The project is expected to be completed by February 2012 and will look similar to the West El Camino Bridge.
