Eastbound Winters and Longview onramps closing this weekend

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting motorists that the eastbound Interstate 80 Winters Street on-ramp and the Longview Drive off-ramp are scheduled for 55-hour closures this weekend.

These interstate ramps are scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Friday, March 20 through 5 a.m. Monday, March 23 due to mainline pavement work and approach concrete slab work for the Del Paso Bridge.

These scheduled ramp closures will also include reducing the far left eastbound “Express Lanes” to one lane prior to Winters Street. Caltrans advises motorists to plan ahead for increased travel time or to use an alternate route. Additionally, the eastbound I-80 work zone speed limit continues to be 55 miles per hour from the Sacramento River to Watt Avenue.

Motorists are reminded to “Be Work Zone Alert” and “Slow for the Cone Zone.”

Weather or other unexpected events may prolong the work or cause construction activities to be rescheduled. Caltrans will continue to update the public on changing conditions through social media.
