Fatal shooting occurred in Richardson Village, not Del Paso Heights

A fatal shooting occurred today at approximately 11:30am in the 600 block of Las Palmas Ave near Noralto and Harmon Johnson.

According to Sacramento Police, officers arrived to the shooting and found the victim, a male Black adult in his fifties with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and are investigating the circumstances that led to this incident.  Responding officers spoke to multiple witnesses and found that the gunman arrived in a vehicle, fired multiple shots at the victim and then fled the area in the vehicle he arrived in.

At this point in the investigation, there is no known motive to the homicide and this continues to be an ongoing investigation.  No one has been arrested in relation to this deadly shooting.

There is confusion as to where the shooting took place. While Sacramento Police have referenced the location of the incident by its street address, media outlets commented the incident took place in the Del Paso Heights neighborhood.

Problem is the incident took place in Richardson Village, which is almost two miles away from Del Paso Heights.
