Reopening of Norwood Bridge celebrated

Members of the community came to celebrate the completion of the Norwood Avenue Bridge Replacement Project.

Crews began replacement of the 55-year-old bridge between Fairbanks Avenue and Linley Avenue in June 2011. The raised bridge has been modernized to include bike lanes, widened sidewalks, and ornamental streetlights.

City officials say the $8 million project used no money from the city’s general fund.
