Fourth of July fun and events

The Fourth of July is filled with fun events throughout the Sacramento Area. Here’s a glimpse at a few:

Sacramento Independence Day Celebration (July 4)
The annual celebration at Cal Expo will feature fireworks, food, music by the Mobility Air Force Band, and dancing. General admission is free, while grandstand and reserved seating is $10. Parking is also $10. Gates open at 4:30pm; fireworks launch at 9:30pm.

Raley Field’s Fireworks Extravaganza (July 2 and 3)
Fireworks shows will take place following the Sacramento River Cats games on July 2 and 3. Tickets available online.

Fourth of July Pocket Parade (July 3)
The parade kicks off at 10am at Parkway Oaks Park and ends at Garcia Bend Park.

41st Street Parade (July 4)
Commonly known as Sacramento’s oldest street parade, the 41st Street Parade kicks off at 10am on the corner of 41st and M Streets.

Valley View Acres Parade (July 4)
Residents of Valley View Acres in Natomas will hold their 23rd annual parade, starting at 10:30am.

Salute to the Red, White and Blue Fireworks Show (July 4)
The event starts at 3pm at Elk Grove Regional Park with live entertainment, food, and a children’s area. Fireworks launch at 9:30pm.

Roseville’s Fourth of July Celebration (July 4)
Roseville’s annual fireworks show can be viewed from the Placer County Fairgrounds. Gates open at 7pm; fireworks to launch at 9:30pm. Admission is free.

BBQ and Concert at The Stoney Inn (July 4)
The Stoney Inn will be hosting an after-party for the Folsom Rodeo featuring a free BBQ on July 4 from 9-11pm and a concert with Deuces Wild at 10pm.

Independence Day Celebration at The BOLT (July 4)
The BOLT Bar (Gay Bar) begins its celebration at 2pm with a free BBQ (4pm until it’s gone), drink specials, and fireworks. No Cover.
