Hagginwood and East Del Paso Heights residents probably took a triple take when bringing their cans in yesterday.
The Solid Waste Services division of the City’s Department of Utilities distributed yard waste containers throughout these neighborhoods yesterday morning. The bins are used to collect yard waste such as leaves, grass trimmings, tree and shrub prunings, sod (with dirt removed) and even Christmas trees.
Similar to regular garbage and recycling pickup, the containers must be placed on the street at the curb by 6:00am with lids completely closed. Your collection day is the same as your regular garbage and recycling pickup day, but is done during specific weeks of the year.
View the containerized yard waste collection schedule to see when your yard waste is collected and visit the Solid Waste Services webpage for more information about the program.
