Tomorrow morning, the City will hold an event on Dixieanne Avenue to celebrate the completion of the City’s first “green street”.

The event takes place at Winner’s Circle Park on Dixieanne Avenue at Evergreen Street, starting at 9am with opening remarks and a walking tour of the street.

The street features new sidewalks, an updated storm drainage system, self-irrigating planter strips, native trees, shrubs and grasses, and various landscape elements by Larry Meeks.

The event is sponsored by Councilmember Sandy Sheedy, SHRA, and the City’s Department of Transportation.
