Goodbye tennis. Hello skateboarding.

On Tuesday, the Sacramento City Council approved a $230,000 construction bid to replace the cracked tennis courts at Robertson Community Center with a skateboard park. According to the Sacramento Bee , the courts have been degrading for about 30 years and residents expressed interest in installing a skate park.

The skate park would be located adjacent to Silver Eagle Road. A great model for a skate park can be found at Robla Community Park.

The Master Plan also calls for the installation of tether-ball courts near the basketball courts, and a picnic area with a shade structure behind the community center.
