The Rio Linda Knights bounced back in thrilling fashion as they defeated the Ponderosa Bruins 15-13 on the road. The Knights scored the winning field goal as time expired, handing the Bruins their first loss of the season.
The Foothill Mustangs earned their first win of the season, defeating the Natomas Nighthawks 33-27. This was the fewest number of points the Mustangs have allowed all season, and the most the Nighthawks have scored all season. This was also Foothill’s first victory all-time against Natomas.
The Highlands Scots once again blew out the Encina Prep Bulldogs 40-6, extending their winning streak to 9-0 since September 2004. The Scots have held the Bulldogs to seven points or less per game since 2004.
