Sacramento Press interviewed former Sacramento Mayor Heather Fargo yesterday, her first media interview since leaving office.
Fargo revealed she has considered running for re-election, primarily because she is asked frequently about running for for the post (she hasn’t made a formal bid).
Fargo has kept herself busy since leaving office: she has been working as a consultant for California Forward, volunteering for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and helped start a National Women’s Political Caucus chapter in Sacramento.
As for the strong-mayor initiative, Fargo feels it would take power and control away from City Councilmembers, and allows the mayor to veto decisions without listening to the public.
