Whooping cough shot extension granted for Twin Rivers students

Twin Rivers Unified School District has conditionally allowed students in the 7th through 12th grades to conditionally attend classes through Friday, September 9 before meeting their requirement of receiving a whooping cough booster (Tdap).

The district is acting under the new state law, SB 614, requiring school children to receive Tdap shots prior to starting school.

The Tdap vaccine is available through family physicians or at several community clinics.

This extension does not apply to students attending Robla School District.
