Ben Ali neighborhood gets its first park

Councilmember Steve Cohn, the City of Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department, the Twin Rivers Unified School District, Higher Learning Academy Elementary School and the Ben Ali Community Association is holding a ribbon cutting and celebration for new community playfields in the Ben Ali neighborhood at Frienza Ave and Plover Street.

The celebration will include a soccer match between the students and teachers of the Higher Learning Academy.

The celebration takes place Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The new playfield is a joint effort between the City of Sacramento and Twin Rivers Unified School District and is the first public park for this neighborhood.
