Shooting in Dixieanne ends with one person dead

Via Sacrament Police Department’s News Release:

The Sacramento Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another at the hospital.

On May 8, 2010, at 7:48 p.m., officers responded to Dixieanne Avenue and Oakmont Street on a large fight with two people who had been shot. Upon arrival, officers found a male Hispanic 21-years-old who died at the scene and a male Hispanic 19-years-old who had been shot and was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene. Based on the preliminary investigation, detectives believe that the victims got into an argument with a group of subjects who were attending a party at a hall on Del Paso Boulevard. The argument escalated, turned physical, and continued onto Dixieanne Avenue where someone shot the victims. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic, in his 20’s, 5’7″, 160 lbs, wearing a light colored shirt and blue jeans.
