Tomorrow is the “14 Miles of Service”, the annual preservation and beautification project along the Sacramento Northern Bike Trail; a great opportunity for youth, teens, and young adults to volunteer for Global Youth Service Day.

Volunteers will be split along the Sacramento Northern Bike Trail, which runs from downtown C Street to the county border at Ascot Ave. Trail assignments will be 1/4 mil or less, and driving/riding directions will be provided. Projects include removing litter and invasive plants, moving mulch, pruning shrubs, and planting at Robla Park.

Volunteers will be lead by AmeriCorps NCCC, Parks Staff, and Youth Commissioners; no prior experience necessary.

Registration opens at 7:30am at Robla Community Park, with a kick off rally with Councilmembers Sandy Sheedy and Ray Tretheway at 8:00am.
