Original North Sac park slated for a makeover

Tomorrow, the City Council will vote to adopt a resolution approving the Jack Rea Park Master Plan.

Jack Rea Park is a small neighborhood park originally developed by the City of North Sacramento; it was annexed into the City of Sacramento in the 1970s. The park consists of mostly grass and trees.

The master plan of the new park includes a bug themed playground, accessible rubberized surfacing, open turf area, a group picnic area shaded by existing mature trees, walkways, an educational butterfly garden, perennials and flowering trees, and new site furniture.

Construction is scheduled to begin in late spring 2010 and to be completed before fall 2010.
