Two cats were killed by two pit bulls earlier today near Hagginwood Elementary School.

The dogs going after the cats is not necessarily a surprise; it is somewhat dictated by mother nature. It remains to be seen whether or not the dogs were strays or owned by a neighbor.

What seems more questionable is how the owner of the cats called Sacramento Police claiming a child had been bitten. No doubt animal control would probably have called for help with detaining the dogs, but it just doesn’t seem right for the owner of the cats to claim a child had been bitten when it didn’t happen. Did he do this with the intent of drawing more officers? Only he knows that.

Still, I do feel for his loss, and I’m glad he got the dogs off the street.
