Golden Corral’s got Hometown Buffet’s number

The Regency Theater, famous for its adult content, was torn down back in January to make way for the Golden Corral buffet chain.

Turns out, this was a really good trade off.

The Golden Corral in North Highlands opened about two weeks ago. My family and I went to dinner last night and we were very surprised by the quality of its food. What was even more surprising was the amount of people coming and going from the restaurant; it seemed like Grand Central Station.

The restruant had a variety of food, from fish to pastas to ribs to salads. And yes, there were lots of deserts, even a small doughnut-maker.

What seemed to make the place unique was its customer service. Our area had a sweet lady talking to everyone, taking our plates, and bringing us new drinks as needed. She was so good, we felt obligated to give her a tip.

If you have the time this weekend, it is well worth it to check out the Golden Corral.

As for Hometown Buffet, they may want to check out some new digs.
