Should park services be cut?

The Sacramento City Manager has proposed a budget plan that would cut numerous services to parks. Such cuts would lead to reduced mowing and trash pickup, and a closure of all park restrooms except for special events.

The proposed cuts have not set well with many residents. The group Rescue Sacramento Parks has proposed a set of recommendations and has gained media exposure.

Now, Mayor Kevin Johnson is asking:

Should the I vote to support the City Manager’s position on park
cutbacks? If not, what other services do you suggest reducing that will result in similar budget savings?
