Meanwhile back at the precinct…

While all eyes at City Hall seem to be on negotiations with the Fire Union, the Sacramento Police Officers Association may be in the midst of a shakeup.

According to the Sacramento Bee, SPOA Vice President Mark Tyndale will run against current President Brent Meyer later this year. The two are close friends, and Tyndale is “very pleased” with the outcome of this year’s labor negotiations; however, he does not feel Meyer has done enough to offset “heavy-handed discipline” toward officers.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
